Each student admitted into the Kappa Leadership Institute - Chicago goes through a very selective admission process which includes submitting an admission application, writing several essays, submitting letters of recommendations from their high school counselor or principal, their English teacher, their Math teacher, and participate in a (3) hour admission interview process.
Our Students
The Kappa Leadership Institute - Chicago is known for the producing the largest number of minority male students in the city of Chicago as named as National Merit Semi-Finalist and over the last five years, every senior has gained admission to a "Tier 1" four year college or university. The Kappa Leadership institute - Chicago is currently ranked as one of the best programs nationally amongst 344 other Kappa Leadership Institutes in the nation.
Academic Strands
At Kappa Leadership Institute - Chicago, we believe that exposure to a challenging academic and leadership environment along with the development of skills needed to gain admission into and complete academic studies at a rigorous college/university is critical for early career success. This is particularly true for many disadvantaged minorities and low-income young men who may not have ample resources in their school and home environments

100% of our seniors since 2005 have graduated and were admitted into the "tier 1" college/university of their first choice 96% of our students rank in the top 15% of their high school class 83 % of our seniors scored a 28 or higher on the ACT Exam. (12 points higher than the national average for African American students and 7 points higher than the national average for all students.)
